On Wall Street, women have long been underrepresented. However, Lauren Simmons, the youngest full-time female trader on Wall Street at age 22, is a beacon of hope for the future of female representation in the industry. On this International Women’s Day, let us take a moment to appreciate the achievements of this remarkable woman.

Simmons grew up in Georgia and initially aspired to be a medical doctor, but soon realized that finance was her true calling. In 2016, after graduating from Kennesaw State University with a degree in genetics and a minor in statistics, she moved to New York City to pursue her dream of becoming a trader on Wall Street.

Despite being young and inexperienced, Simmons made a bold move and secured a position as an equity trader at Rosenblatt Securities in 2017.
